Install and uninstall OBLB

Last Updated:2026-09-03 09:50:14

Prerequisites
Install OBLB
Uninstall OBLB

This topic describes how to install and uninstall OBLB in the OceanBase Admin Toolkit (OAT) console. OBLB is an iptables-based software load balancing tool. As a distributed database, OceanBase Database must integrate the computing capabilities of all nodes to maximize the overall performance of the database cluster. Therefore, an external server load balancer (SLB) such as OBLB must be mounted to provide a unified traffic ingress. OBLB distributes traffic to different nodes for load balancing.

Prerequisites

Before you install OBLB, make sure that the following conditions are met:

  • You have installed OAT and logged on as either a super administrator or an O&M engineer. For more information, see Install OAT.
  • You have added a server where OBLB is to be installed. For more information, see Add a server.
  • You have added the OBLB package.
  • The server meets the requirements for installing OBLB.

Install OBLB

To install OBLB, perform the following steps:

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Product Service > Tool.

  2. On the Tool page, find the OBLB option and click Install Now.

  3. On the Install OBLB page, configure the parameters.

The following table describes the basic parameters of OBLB.

    Parameter
    Description
OBLB Package The software package of OBLB. By default, the latest package of OBLB is selected.
Tool Name The name of the tool, which must be unique. Default value: OBLB.
Server The IP address of the server where OBLB is to be installed.
Service Port The service port of OBLB. Default value: 9000.
Service Account The service username of OBLB. Default value: oblb.
Service Password The service password of OBLB. Random passwords are supported.
VIP NIC The NIC that provides the IP address for accessing OBLB.
VIP Address The IP address for accessing OBLB. You can specify the IP address.
  4. After you set the parameters, click Submit.

You can also click Reset to restore to the default configurations.

Uninstall OBLB

To uninstall OBLB, perform the following steps:

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Product Service > Product Management.

  2. Find the target OBLB service and click the service name in the Name column.

You can also search for the service by name.

  3. On the details page, click Uninstall in the upper-right corner.

In the message that appears, click Confirm. OAT displays a message indicating that the service is being uninstalled. OAT also creates an uninstall task. In the confirmation dialog box that appears, you can click the task ID to view the task progress.

    Notice

If OBLB is associated with another product, the uninstall will fail.
