Install and uninstall OBLB

Last Updated:2026-09-03 09:50:18

Prerequisites
Install OBLB
Uninstall OBLB

This topic describes how to install and uninstall OBLB in the OceanBase Admin Toolkit (OAT) console. OBLB is an iptables-based software load balancing tool. As a distributed database, OceanBase Database must integrate the computing capabilities of all nodes to maximize the overall performance of the database cluster. Therefore, an external load balancer such as OBLB must be mounted to provide a unified traffic ingress and distribute traffic to different nodes for load balancing.

Prerequisites

Before you install OBLB, make sure that the following conditions are met:

  • You have installed OAT and logged in as a super administrator or an O&M engineer. For more information, see Install OAT.
  • You have added a server to install OBLB. For more information, see Add a server.
  • You have added the OBLB package.
  • The server meets the requirements for installing OBLB and can add and use virtual IP addresses (VIP).

Install OBLB

To install OBLB, perform the following steps:

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Product Service > Tools.

  2. On the Tools page, find the OBLB option and click Install Now.

  3. On the Install OBLB page, configure the parameters.

The following table describes the basic parameters of OBLB.

    Parameter
    Description
OBLB Package The software package of OBLB. By default, the package of the latest version is selected.
Tool Name The name of the tool, which must be unique. Default value: OBLB.
Server The IP address of the server on which you want to install OBLB.
Service Port The service port of OBLB. Default value: 9000.
Service Account The username of OBLB. Default value: oblb.
Service Password The password of OBLB. Random passwords are supported.
VIP NIC The network interface controller (NIC) that provides the IP address for accessing OBLB.
VIP Address The IP address for accessing OBLB. You can specify a custom IP address.
  4. After you configure the parameters, click Submit.

You can also click Reset to restore to the default configurations.

Uninstall OBLB

To uninstall OBLB, perform the following steps:

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Product Service > Tools.

  2. Find the OBLB tool that you want to uninstall and click its name in the Name column to go to the details page.

  3. On the details page, click Uninstall in the upper-right corner.

In the dialog box that appears, click OK. Then, OAT displays a message indicating that the tool is being uninstalled and creates an uninstallation task. You can click the task ID in the message to view the task progress.

    Note

If the OBLB tool is associated with another service, the uninstallation fails.
